Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Talo Chat. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
16. Voice Cloning Consent and Usage
Talo Chat offers an optional voice cloning feature that allows users to create a synthetic voice representation of their deceased loved one. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
16.1 Explicit Consent
- You must provide explicit consent before uploading any voice reference audio.
- You acknowledge that voice cloning creates a digital representation that may resemble the voice of the deceased individual.
- You understand that this feature is entirely optional and not required to use the Service.
16.2 Rights and Authorization
- You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to use the audio file you upload.
- You confirm that the audio recording was obtained lawfully and with appropriate consent from the individual (when they were alive) or from their legal representatives.
- You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights, permissions, and authorizations to use the voice reference audio.
16.3 Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to use the voice cloning feature for:
- Impersonating or misrepresenting any real person, living or deceased
- Creating deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading content
- Any malicious, harmful, or illegal purposes
- Generating content that could defame, harass, or harm others
- Any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations
16.4 AI Voice Synthesis Disclosure
- The cloned voice is generated using artificial intelligence technology provided by Inworld AI.
- The synthetic voice is an AI-generated approximation and not an exact reproduction of the original voice.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, or similarity of the generated voice to the original.
- The AI-generated voice may produce unexpected or unintended results.
16.5 Technical Requirements
- Voice reference audio must be 5-15 seconds in duration.
- Accepted formats: WAV, MP3, or WebM.
- Maximum file size: 4 MB.
- The quality of the cloned voice depends on the quality of the reference audio provided.
16.6 Liability and Responsibility
- You assume full responsibility for any use of the voice cloning feature.
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JP IA Solutions, LLC from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your use of voice reference audio or generated voice content.
- We are not responsible for disputes arising from ownership or rights to voice recordings.
16.7 Checkbox Requirement
Before uploading voice reference audio, you must check a mandatory checkbox confirming that you:
- Have read and understood this Voice Cloning Consent section
- Have the legal right to use the uploaded audio
- Will not use the feature for any prohibited purposes
- Understand the AI-generated nature of the voice synthesis

1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Talo Chat in any way, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Talo Chat is an AI-powered grief companion application that allows users to create symbolic, text-based simulations ("Personas") inspired by deceased loved ones. The Service uses large language models, image generation models, and other artificial intelligence technologies to generate responses, images, and other content.
3. AI-Generated Content — Important Disclaimer
This is the most important section of these Terms. Please read it carefully.
3.1 Content is Artificially Generated
All messages, responses, images, and other content produced by a Persona are entirely generated by artificial intelligence. This content:
- Is not authored, reviewed, approved, or endorsed by Talo Chat or any human.
- Does not represent the actual thoughts, words, opinions, beliefs, or intentions of any deceased person.
- May be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, or emotionally distressing.
- May not reflect the real personality, values, or character of the person the Persona is based on.
3.2 No Responsibility for AI Output
Talo Chat expressly disclaims all responsibility for the content generated by the AI, including but not limited to:
- Text responses, images, audio, or any other media produced by the Service.
- Emotional reactions, psychological effects, or distress arising from interacting with AI-generated Personas.
- Decisions — financial, personal, medical, legal, or otherwise — made based on AI-generated content.
- Misrepresentations or inaccuracies in the simulated Persona's responses.
You acknowledge that you interact with AI-generated content entirely at your own risk.
3.3 Not a Substitute for Professional Support
Talo Chat is a symbolic and emotional support tool only. It is not:
- A mental health service, psychotherapy, or counseling service.
- A medical service or substitute for professional medical advice.
- A legal, financial, or life-guidance service.
If you are experiencing grief, depression, anxiety, or any mental health condition, we strongly encourage you to seek support from a qualified mental health professional.
3.4 The Persona Is Not a Real Person
The Personas created in Talo Chat are AI simulations. They are not connected to, controlled by, or representative of any real person, living or deceased. The use of a real person's name, images, or characteristics does not grant the Persona any actual connection to that person.
4. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for personal, lawful purposes.
- Not use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any person or group.
- Not attempt to use the Service to impersonate living persons in harmful ways.
- Not use AI-generated output as evidence in legal, medical, or official proceedings.
- Not share AI-generated content in ways that could mislead others into believing it was authored by a real person.
- Comply with all applicable laws, including those governing AI and digital content in your jurisdiction.
5. Intellectual Property
All platform code, design, trademarks, and non-user-generated content belong to JP IA Solutions, LLC. AI-generated content produced during your sessions is provided to you under a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for personal use only.
6. Credits and Payments
Access to certain features requires purchasing credits. All purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Prices may change at any time. We use Stripe to process payments; your payment data is governed by Stripe's terms.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JP IA Solutions, LLC and its officers, employees, agents, and partners shall not be liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Emotional distress, psychological harm, or mental health deterioration resulting from AI-generated content.
- Loss of data, revenue, or opportunity.
- Any reliance placed on AI-generated content.
In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or appropriate.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we determine that continued access poses a risk to users or third parties.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.
